UPDATE: ICFF 2010

We had a great show at the ICFF this year and lots of fun. The booth was teaming with conversation about our "Between the Lines" collection that included 4 new Cut Out carved armless chairs in wonderful aniline dye colors. And continued with our companion Cut Out designs translated into our new hand tufted rug designs, currently available made in NJ or made in Peru. And then the added translations of those designs into the new Designer Series do it yourself wall stencils now on sale thru our licensed fabricator, Cutting Edge Stencils. We had way too much fun this year preparing for this fantastic event.

Enjoy!

Besides the great show, we also want to share that we are proud to be a part of an important initiative with Rug Mark /Goodweave. RugMark is a nonprofit organization working to end exploitative child labor in the hand made rug industry and offer educational opportunities to children in India and Nepal. The RugMark label is an excellent assurance that no illegal child labor was used in the manufacture of a carpet or rug.

NEW YEAR NEW CHANGES

"SHOWROOM RELOCATION"

We are packing, with great anticipation of moving to our new space at 20 W.22nd Street in July. This showroom will give us additional space to display our product line and host events for the industry in the Chelsea area, which we absolutely fell in love with this year. Watch for our opening announcement at the end of the summer and gear up for a fun event in the fall.

One of the things we love about being in Chelsea is that we are pretty close to the High Line which was originally constructed in the 1930s, to lift dangerous freight trains off Manhattan's streets. Section 1 of the High Line is open as a public park, owned by the City of New York and operated under the jurisdiction of the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation.

After work our team loves to mingle and their favorite spot is close to entrance off 20th street, just a 10 minute walk from the office and if you ever come and visit our showroom don't forget to visit the Hight Line too. We bet you'll love it.

"BON VOYAGE"

We said bon voyage to one of our valued studio designers and good friend, Alex, or more formally Alejandra, who has left New York to participate in a volunteer effort to help others. Alex will be volunteering in Kenya, teaching and coaching design and monitoring furniture quality in a facility that focuses on the physically impaired or handicapped. We look forward to getting images from her of their facility and promise to share her experience with you too. Safe travels Alex, we already miss you.

SURPRISE SURPRISE!

Diane attended an event to celebrate the Summer Solstice last Sunday evening June 20th hosted by the Everhart Museum in Scranton. The night helped raise money for the museum and it was a resounding success. Diane offered a weekend in her New York apartment for auction and it brought $3,800. It is a worthy cause and if you have any interest please check out their website.

Happy 4th of July!
